China has confirmed that the ceasefire agreement between Cambodia and Thailand, reached at the end of December 2025 following weeks of intense fighting along their border, is being gradually implemented, easing tensions in the region and marking a notable development in Southeast Asian stability. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that Beijing welcomes the return of 18 Cambodian soldiers and hopes both countries will continue strengthening dialogue, fostering lasting peace, and rebuilding mutual trust. China also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting regional peace efforts and contributing to long-term stability through diplomatic cooperation and its Global Security Initiative.
